Food Trip Friday #6 - Roti Jala *

One of the things I love about living in Malaysia is the rich variety of food we are renowned for. Seriously, where else can you find authentic Nasi Lemak, Satay or Roti Canai but here? Other countries may have their own version of our local delights but home is where the heart is and Malaysia truly does serve some of the tastiest dishes around. Smiley

I am featuring Roti Jala for this week's Food Trip Friday. A popular tea-time pancake/crepe also served in hotels as a hi-tea favourite, this Malaysian delicacy is extremely delicious. Literally translated as 'net bread' the name derives from its thread-like patterns of a fishing net. Roti Jala is usually served with a side dish of chicken curry. If cooked perfectly with just the right texture and flavour, I can easily eat the crepe on its own without the curry! Smiley
